Between the ages of 5 and 7, children are ready to learn the fundamental musical concepts involved in instrument instruction, vocal study, and music composition. They thrive in an encouraging and fun, yet structured environment.
Kindermusik for the Young Child provides an ensemble approach to music education which offers children the opportunity to learn:
- Vocal skills
- Rhythm
- Notation
- Musical symbols
- Pre-keyboard, string and woodwind instruments
The introduction of each instrument is presented purposefully to ensure just the right amount of motivation, stimulation, challenge and success for each child—according to individual pace and learning style.
The carefully structured curriculum incorporates singing, games, listening and echoing activities. Many children become accurate singers at this stage of development and realize their first "instrument" is, in fact, their own voice! The learning and repetition of songs and patterns is fundamental to the development of good musical memory.
The carefully structured curriculum is offered in 4 sequential semesters, offered over 2 years:

We believe that the best way to learn something is to have fun doing it. So we have designed a piano course with the fun built right in. To ensure that children enjoy the piano and become enthusiastic about their lessons, we have combined the rudiments of the Kodaly Method along with liveliness of Dalcroze Eurythmics - all the movement games and songs that children love - with an introduction to piano, theory and notation. So children can expect a course that is attuned to their innate inquisitiveness, liveliness and sense of fun. And when children participate willingly and enthusiastically, learning occurs!
